Kavavar Coffee Shop & Marketplace
Kavavar is a social enterprise operating under the umbrella of the Ukrainian House in Batumi. It was created not only as a coffee shop, but as a community-oriented initiative that supports the long-term sustainability of the Ukrainian House and strengthens opportunities for Ukrainians affected by the war.
The coffee shop provides a welcoming space for visitors, partners, event participants, families, and community members. It offers quality coffee, tea, sweets, and light refreshments, and can also provide coffee breaks and catering for events, trainings, meetings, and partner activities held at the Ukrainian House.
Kavavar is closely aligned with the mission of the Ukrainian House: to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for Ukrainians in Georgia. Income generated through the coffee shop helps support the daily functioning of the space and contributes to the broader humanitarian and community-based work of the Ukrainian House.
An important part of Kavavar’s concept is its small marketplace, where Ukrainian entrepreneurs, artisans, and producers can display and sell their goods. This allows the Ukrainian House to support not only vulnerable community members who need services and assistance, but also economically active Ukrainians who are rebuilding their lives, developing small businesses, and seeking access to new customers.
In this way, Kavavar combines hospitality, community support, and economic empowerment. It is run by Ukrainians and for the benefit of the Ukrainian community, while remaining open to local residents, international partners, and visitors. Through coffee, catering, and the marketplace, Kavavar helps turn the Ukrainian House into a living, sustainable, and socially meaningful space.
